My Finnish adventure didn’t go so well, at first they only wanted to send me one collectors edition instead of the two I had ordered, since I hadn’t preordered some beta key. I accepted that but then it turned out they didn’t have any copies at all and they offered to send me a regular edition instead. Given that postage from Finland would cost about as much as the (regular) game itself, I kindly declined.

I bought two regular editions in a Danish store and tried a few different dual box combinations. Playing right at launch was ok fun but very soon I found myself in empty zones (I can’t play a lot), unable to do PQs. This sucked but the kicker for me was the lack of PVE content. I didn’t want to run the scenario hamster wheel and there just wasn’t enough XP from PVE to keep leveling at a decent pace without jumping through all kinds of hoops.

I played the free month, had some fun, but didn’t subscribe, especially not since WotLK was looming on the horizon at the time.
